Creation: Faith or Fiction?

We are in the middle of a war over the minds and souls of our young people.  At the forefront of the battle is a debate over the origin of life and the universe.  Can we save a generation from the lies of Satan?  Can we overcome the constant pressure from text books, Discovery Channel ™, and multitudes of college professors to teach the truth about Creation?

When discussing the origin of  life and the universe we need to understand that no matter which side of the argument you stand on, it boils down to faith.  In Hebrews 11:3 we find, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”  Creation is constantly described to us as a “fairy tale.” To a man of secular science, faith in a Divine Creator is a laughable idea, but faith is the very thing that is needed most to believe in the Big Bang Theory.  The question is: do you have faith in a loving, caring God who designed you with a purpose?  Or do you have faith in a “pre-Big Bang singularity”, which without thought or purpose mysteriously exploded, and out of that spark of chaos we have a perfectly ordered universe? Explosions do not create, they destroy!  The evidence of creation is so clear that Paul wrote in Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”  Can we deny the evidence all around us?  Can we ignore the Word of God as it declares our Creator?

God created the universe, earth, plants, animals, mountain and all other things for a purpose.  Isaiah 45:18 says, “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”  What would be the point of creating an empty earth?  He formed it to be inhabited!  Evolutionists teaches that it took billions of years to form the earth, and because of that teaching, there have been those from the religious community trying to meld creation with evolution.  This hybrid doctrine is called Theistic-evolution.  But God does not work in vain!  Why would He take billions of years to do what He could do in an instant?  Not only does this doctrine go against the nature of God but it also limits His power.  God does not need eons to create rock layers and mountains. Notice Amos 4:13 which says, “For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.”  As complex as it might be, God formed the mountains to be beautiful and wondrous.  If they were naturally formed through billions of years, there would be fossil records to support Evolution.  Fossil records do not show a progression of simple to complex life forms.   Evolutionists need to show that progression to prove their theory, yet the evidence does not exist!  Even plants were created for a purpose.  In Gen 2:4-5 we read, “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created in the day that Jehovah God made the earth and the heavens. 5)  And every shrub of the field was not yet on the earth, and every plant of the field had not yet sprung up, for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground (NKJV).”  Until God had created Man, there was no reason for plants to exist.  They serve a purpose in providing nourishment to His prized creation, Man.  Man is not a descendant of an ape, but God created man in the very same image we are in today.   Jesus in Mar 10:6 says But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.”  God did not create single cell organisms that evolved into mankind. There are no fossil records to support such claims.  Gen 2:7 says, “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  We have been formed by God!

In Gen 1:1 we read, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”  Psa 33:6 tells us that “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”  The apostle John tells us in John 1:1-3, 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2)  The same was in the beginning with God. 3)  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 14)  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” The Hebrew writer states in Heb 1:2, “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” The Bible declares that the Word of God, Christ Jesus, is our Creator.  You can live a life with a purpose, knowing you are not some accidental byproduct of a cosmic blast. You were created to serve God.  In Col 1:16-17 Paul tells us, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17)  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”  In Rev 4:11 we read, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.  We were created with a purpose to serve a living God.  When we show kindness to our neighbor we are fulfilling our purpose.  When we teach someone about redemption from sin we are fulfilling our purpose.  When we stand up for our Creator in the mist of many critics we are fulfilling our purpose.

Do you find your life lacks purpose?  Could it be that you have been misplacing your faith?  Believe in God!  Read His Word!  Find your purpose!  God has called you for a purpose, will you answer the call?
